Happy Friday (and honestly- it couldn’t have come fast enough for me!) I hope you’re all ready for the weekend!
My birthday is this coming Sunday, and since I worked through this past Monday- which was a holiday for nearly everyone else that I knew- I’ve taken this coming Monday off for a personal day in order to extend my getting-older-celebration another 24 hours. I believe the plan is to head to NYC for an afternoon- but you never know what will happen! Either way- I’m very excited for a long weekend that I hope is filled with good friends, plenty of cake, and a Patriots win over the Steelers.
And if anyone asks- I’m turning 29. Again.
I digress- while I’ve been working a lot this past week- I did take some time to catch up with friends over coffee at Caffè Nero in Jamaica Plain the other night. I really like the atmosphere in the place. It’s nice to sit back and talk in big leather chairs and be surrounded by hundreds of books that stretch up to the ceiling. Any cafe that has it’s own personality is a place I like to pass the time and keep warm.
The cappuccinos were delicious- although it was a little late in the evening for me to partake in any of their incredible-looking desserts.
Next time, for sure.
Next week I’m going to have the full birthday weekend re-cap up (which may or may not include a review of whatever movie my friends are bringing me to tonight to kick off the festivities!) as well as post detailing my monthly favorites and maybe another recipe post or two- but before I get too ahead of myself- I just wanted to say not only THANK YOU SO MUCH to those who sent me early and warmest birthday wishes- but also that given today’s political undertones- I hope those of you who are angry, afraid, uncertain and/or upset about Trump’s inauguration take some time for yourselves today to do something that makes you happy, makes you smile, and makes you feel safe.
Always try to balance your days with equal measures of positivity and self-love. You deserve that.
Stay safe out there, everyone. Have a good weekend!
xx
Happy happy birthday! Enjoy
Thank you so much! ❤
The day of your birthday may have gone by, but the happiness that you are in this world will always stay. Belated Happy Birthday to you. May you be blessed with a year filled with abundant blessings., Hope you Enjoyed in NYC. Between I visited CaffeNero last year, Looks like European cafe in Jamaica Plain. Nice decoration and strong coffee, which we need after a hectic day. I rarely visit Cafe’s, as I love to brew with my bean to cup easy machine.
Ohh Trump, did you saw inaugural concert showdown: Trump 2017 vs Obama 2009 on Youtube? It says it all.
Thank you so, so much! ❤
The comparison photos between Trump’s inauguration and Obama’s, or Trump’s inauguration and the Women’s March are so telling to how people feel. I was stunned to learn he was still arguing about the crowd size days later!
